Report illegal content

Updated:

This page explains how to report illegal content or copyright-infringing material on openmat.fi. It is our notice-and-action mechanism under Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).

What to report here

Use this channel if you believe openmat.fi contains illegal content — for example a copyright-infringing image, illegal or abusive material, or anything else unlawful. Send your notice by email to info@openmat.fi.

Other matters have their own channels (see below): a plain factual error in a listing is best reported via the listing’s “report” link, and personal-data requests via the privacy policy.

What your notice should include

So we can act quickly, please be as specific as possible:

Copyright

If an image or text infringes your copyright, email info@openmat.fi identifying the infringing content (URL), the protected work, and your rights to it. We remove content that is validly infringing.

What happens next

We handle notices without undue delay. If the content is illegal or breaches our terms, we remove it or disable access to it.

If you gave an email address, we confirm receipt immediately and tell you what we decided, with reasons, once the notice has been handled (DSA Art. 16). This is not discretionary: you file, we answer.

We also tell the person who provided the content why it was removed or not published, and how to contest the decision (DSA Art. 17). Automated checks assist, but they never remove or publish anything on their own — a person always makes the decision.

We do not operate the DSA Art. 20 internal complaint system or Art. 21 out-of-court dispute settlement: the service is a micro-enterprise (Art. 19). A decision can still always be taken to court.

Manifestly illegal material such as child sexual abuse material is removed and, where required, reported to the authorities (Nettivihje / the police).

Other channels

A factual error in a listing (e.g. wrong time or address): use the “report” link on the listing.

Erasure or correction of personal data: see the privacy policy (/privacy).

Submit a notice

You can send a notice with this form or by email. The form asks for the information a notice must contain under DSA Art. 16, so that we can act on it.

What the notice is about

The exact address where the content is - for example https://www.openmat.fi/clubs/example. Without an exact location we cannot act on the notice.

Explain why you believe the content is unlawful. The more specific you are, the faster this is resolved.

Your contact details

We confirm receipt and send our decision to this address. Contact details are optional: a notice concerning child sexual abuse may be filed anonymously.

We process your data as described in our privacy policy.
